"'Praise' - How Befitting!"
Psalm 33

No one has greater cause to praise God than those whom He has redeemed.
They have been taken by Him from a state of being dead in trespasses and
sins, and have been raised up to new life - even to the point of being
seated in the heavenly places with Christ (Eph. 2:1-7). They are the ones
who have been justified in His sight - made "righteous" by faith.
Here's a call to the righteous man or woman to praise this redeeming
God. Verse 12 is a key affirmation in this psalm. Note how fitting such
praise is among those whom God saves: ". . . for praise from the upright
is beautiful" (v. 1); that is, "praise befits the upright" (English Standard
Version). Praise is "comely" because it's the appropriate response to
come from those whom God saves (1 Peter 2:9).
Let's walk through this psalm together; and as we do, may we who are
in Christ be moved to do that which is most befitting to us - to praise
the One who loves us so!
